Climber Nimsdai Purja shared video evidence defending his claims of cut fixed ropes on Everest, amid announcement of a legal investigation by Nepal's Department of Tourism.

The Department of Tourism refuted Nimsdai Purja’s claim that the fixed line had been cut above Balcony, saying the claim was seemingly made to gain popularity. The Department in a strong worded statement said an investigation will be proceeded and legal action will be taken against Purja and other involved in disseminating false information. 

As the spring expedition draws to a close, a few climbers are still trying their luck; but they are faced with an unusual circumstance. The fixed ropes are reportedly cut off above Balcony

Elite Exped allegedly took climbing permit for Lingtren Peak, but climbers were allowed to climb Everest instead. 

Nirmal Purja holds multiple records of big mountains and continues to make new ones as he himself leads expeditions of 8,000m peaks.  

At least 3 people have died in a fire that has gutted the office of Elite Exped in Kathmandu. The fire was largely due to the explosion of oxygen cylinders stored there.
