The recent discovery of a new bird species in Nepal has raised the total count of recorded bird species in the country to 895.

At least 21 one-horned rhinos have been found dead in last ten months, and six tigers were reported to have died in recent years in Chitwan National Park, country’s biggest national park for rhinoceros and Royan Bengal tigers.

While conservation efforts have focused on increasing tiger population, human life near conservation zones, who have been living in terror of the wild cats, have been constantly undermined.

Nepal continues to gift animals to other countries continuing an age-old tradition, the latest being a pair of elephants during Qatari King’s state visit to Nepal. Although this tradition is not without its controversy and criticism.

In Nepal, tigers continue to thrive, but the conservation efforts are in question as the number of victims of tiger attacks are also on the rise.
