Norwegian climber Kristin Harila on Sunday stood atop Mount Dhaulagiri, making it her second summit of eight thousander peaks in Nepal’s himalayas, organizer said

Harila, who is on a mission to climb all 14 peaks in six months, climbed the seventh highest mountain after 10 days from her first ascent of Mount Annapurna on April 28.

She hopes to summit four more 8,000ers – Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest and Lhotse before flying to Pakistan where she plans to climb five peaks above 8,000 meters in mid-June.

Lakpa Sherpa, Founder of 8K Expeditions, Harila’s outfitter, shared that her next peak will be Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak.

In 2021, Harlia became the fastest woman to climb Everest and Lhotse in a record 12 hours. If she succeeds, she will beat the record recently set by Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja and chronicled in the Netflix documentary film 14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible.
