Dawa Finjhok to attempt Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu within 24 hours
Record-holding climber Dawa Finjhok Sherpa, who scaled Mount Everest three times within a week, has set his sight on scaling three eight-thousanders, including the world's highest peak, within 24 hours.

Renowned mountaineer Dawa Finjhok Sherpa is once again pushing the boundaries of human endurance and alpine skill.
With an awe-inspiring track record of summiting Mount Everest three times within just 8 days, 13 hours, and 19 minutes in 2024, Dawa Finjhok is preparing to set a new world record in a Spring 2025 expedition.
This time, he aims to complete a speed ascent of three of the world’s highest mountains — Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Makalu (8,485m) — all within 24 hours.
His ambitious plan includes climbing from the summit of Everest to Lhotse in just 4 hours, followed by reaching the summit of Makalu in an additional 12 hours, Dawa Finjhok told Everest Chronicle.
Many climbers have successfully scaled Mount Everest and Lhotse, the world's highest and fourth-highest peak, in a single season, and very few achieved the feat of conquering the Everest Triple Crown – Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse in a single climb.
This is the first time a mountaineer is set to attempt the three eight-thousanders in the Himalayan.
Nepali climber Mingma Dorchi Sherpa holds the Guinness World Record for being the fastest to reach the summit of Mount Everest and Lhotse in a total time of 6 hours and 1 minute. He first scaled Everest and then traversed via the South Col to the summit of Lhotse. He used bottled oxygen to speed up the summit attempts.
In 2022, renowned climber Nimsdai Purja summited both the peaks in 25 hours and 1 minute, setting a record for the fastest climber to scale the world's first and fourth peaks without supplemental oxygen.
British climber Kenton Cool was the first person to complete the Everest Triple Crown – Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Nuptse (7,861m) in a single climb. He had completed it in three days in 2013.

Dawa Finjhok has summited Everest eight times. Besides, he has climbed Kangchenjunga, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Ama Dablam several times.
