Rope fixing team has opened the route of Everest up to Camp II in third attempt. They followed the old route towards Lola peak after the ground around Camp I in the usual route appeared unstable.

Everest expedition this season faces delays as rope fixing through Khumbu Icefall has been delayed due to crevasse. As icefall doctors work on finding alternative route, expedition companies mull the possibility of flying supplies to Camp II.

Eight climbers from Seven Summit Treks led by Lakpa Sherpa reached the summit of Makalu (8485 m) on Thursday.
