British Mountaineer Kenton Cool Sets New Record with 19 Everest Summits
British climber Kenton Cool breaks his own record for the most Mount Everest ascents by a non-Nepali climber, reaching the summit for the 19th time.
British mountaineer Kenton Cool has cemented his place in history by scaling Mount Everest for the 19th time, setting a new record for the most successful ascents by any foreign climber.
Cool reached the summit at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to Lucas Lukas Furtenbach, the owner of Furtenbach Adventures, which organized the expedition.
Cool, known for his remarkable achievements in mountaineering, was the first person to complete the Everest Triple Crown—ascending Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse in one continuous push without returning to base camp. He also made history as the first British guide to successfully lead a client to the summit of K2, the world's second-highest peak.
The record-breaking expedition was part of a team organized by Furtenbach Adventures, comprising six members, including Dorjee Gyelzen Sherpa, Kunga Sherpa, Mingmar Tamang, Rupert Hauer, and Paul Guerra.
Among them, Dorjee Gyelzen Sherpa also achieved a milestone, completing his 24th successful ascent of Everest. Of them, he did 15 summits with Kenton alone. His brother, Pasang Dawa Sherpa, achieved his 28th summit last week.
Meanwhile, legendary Nepali climber Kami Rita Sherpa, who holds the world record for the most Everest ascents at 30, is set to attempt his 31st climb this year, further solidifying his legacy in high-altitude mountaineering.
